According to the following article Israel is currently engaged in cease fire talks brokered by Egypt. Personally, I would not put much hope in these talks going anywhere. Egypt has tried to position herself as the leader in trying to bring peace to the Israeli-Hamas conflict. The problem is Egypt is run by the Muslim Brotherhood, a group that despises Israel. They do not come to the table neutral in the situation looking for a fair deal for both sides. I have a hard time believing Israel is hopeful these talks will lead anywhere.

While talks are ongoing, Israel continues it military action against Hamas. The following article quotes Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on his willingness to expand that action.
