Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin reached out to the White House ahead of his trip to the U.S. to set up a meeting with President Obama, but his offer was rejected. The White House stated being out of town campaigning as its reason for declining the offer, but it is still a troubling turn of events none the less.
As Israel stands on the brink of going to war with Iran, possibly before this November's elections, it is now more important than ever for the U.S. to stand beside them and show support. I think it is very telling of the state of the relationship between the two men that this meeting will not happen.
