Russia selling fighter jets to Syria

The following article details Russia's selling fighter jets to Syria.  There are two things I find interesting about this.
First, Isaiah 17 tells us Damascus will be destroyed.  With the purchase of these jets, it makes one wonder how soon a conflict could be in there future.

Second, it shows Russia's further cozying up with the Islamic world.  This will continue all the way through the War of Gog and Magog when Russia leads an Islamic coalition against Israel.
