Tensions continue to brew in Mid-East

The article linked above is one of the most interesting I have read recently on the current situation in the Middle East.

According to the article Iran may be ready to encourage it satellites in the region to attack Israel in response to possible sanctions on Iran due to their nuclear program. One of those satellites is Syria.

It seems as if the tension filled Mid-East could be becoming even more tense in the days and weeks to come, if that is even possible. With the progression of Iran's nuclear program, tensions over a possible peace agreement for the region, and stories like the one above it almost seems as if an imminent military conflict in the region is inevitable.

Prophetically speaking, keep in mind Isaiah 17:1 which states Damascus, the capital of Syria, will be destroyed. This has never happened so this prophecy is yet to be fulfilled.

Also, keep in mind Psalm 83. This Psalm tells of a confederation who has come to "cut them (Israel) off from being a nation" (Ps. 83:4). If my research is correct, this confederation includes Jordan, Lebanon, and the Gaza Strip (the home of terrorist organizations hostile to Israel). None of these nations along with Syria are mentioned in the Russian led coalition of Ezekiel 38 & 39.

Obviously these nations are enemies of Israel. I have always wondered why these nations would not be a part of that group. Maybe, and I emphasize maybe, it is because their militaries will not be factors at that time due to being severely crippled in a previous war. Could a war be on the horizon that would fulfill Isaiah 17 and Psalm 83?
